A Big Year Ahead | Louise Treacy Photography

Wow – 2013 has already started out to become one of the busiest times for our family. With my youngest baby starting Preps, adjusting to all 3 at school and busy times with my business it has been crazy. Add to that Luke and I bought our dream block of land recently – a gorgeous half acre block with stunning views of the Dandenongs and the city –  it finally means that we will be building the dream home – our forever home – and we are so excited!   It is only up the road from us and we have always said that if it came up for sale we would love to buy it – I am a big believer in ‘if its meant to be’.  My pin interest board has been in overdrive lately and I just can’t wait to start on the design with our builder and architect – the home will be a mix of a beautiful country/period style home – something that has soul and character but also a Hampton’s elegance about it – hoping I am able to portray all the ideas in my head to make it a reality! It will also have a custom built studio with client lounge, powder room, office area and separate entrance – will be so nice to have my own dedicated space.  You can follow along my pin interest board HERE

What that also means is that our current home is now on the market.  It has been such a crazy few weeks getting it ready but the end results have been worth it and it looks amazing! Almost over it already trying to keep our house ‘display home’ clean – such a hard job to do with 3 boys and a full time business to run! Lets hope we get a great result sooner rather then later! Here are just a few photos of our home.

Oh and just because our life wasn’t exciting or busy enough we now have a new family member – meet our beautiful King Charles Cavalier ‘Charlie’  We picked him up last week and he is just adorable. Lachlan has been begging us for months for a dog and so far he has amazed me with his level of responsibility – I have hardly had to look after him at all. The timing of it all wasn’t great with our house being on the market the same week but the bond these two have already is so beautiful to watch. I have heard nothing but great things about this breed so looking forward to many years with our beautiful Charlie.  So that’s all my news at the moment – can’t say life is boring at the moment that’s for sure  :)

Pippy Lane | Interior Style for Little Ones

Recently I have had the pleasure of working with Mel from the gorgeous Pippy Lane to design my boys rooms for our new house that we are planning to build. The end result for each of their room designs was just spot on and I adore everything Mel has suggested – just need to build the new house so I can put it all together now!

Mel is such a lovely person and wonderful to deal with – over the years I have worked with a few interior designers for our current home but I must say Mel has been the only one that immediately ‘got’ the look I was after and really put thought into my son’s ages plus taked into consideration their current furniture etc – highly recommend Pippy Lane for your little ones interiors.   They can offer either custom design rooms or even e design for those interstate – such a fabulous and much needed service.  They also have a online store with some adorable ‘room in a box’ collections – great as a starting point in decorating your babies nursery or child’s room or  a wonderful gift idea for a newborn baby gift or first birthday. You can view Pippy Lane at www.pippylane.com.au

An End of An Era | Louise Treacy Photography

Feeling a mix of sadness and excitement for my baby boy to start school on Friday. I think having your last baby leave for school is a heartbreaking one – on one hand your finally happy to have some ‘me’ time but on the other your going to miss having that little person around like crazy. The one that asks a million questions a day, eats constantly, drives me crazy as I try and work, makes a ton of mess but is also the one that keeps you company, holds his little hand in yours when crossing the road and keeps life fun with his cheeky little traits.  Its an end of an era for me but one that I am sure I will adapt to fairly quickly ( and hopefully love!). These photos are a ironic reminder – the first is around 5 months old – such a beautiful baby and around the time I first picked up my camera and started my photography journey, the second is my crazy monkey only a week ago all ready to fly off  into the world with nothing but excitement :) Tissues may be required on Friday I think – I hope it goes well to all the mums out there with little Preps starting this year

My Baby Turns 5 | Louise Treacy Photography

Today my gorgeous, big beautiful eyed cheeky baby turns 5.  He has been counting down the days until his birthday and is super excited with the promise of lots of spider man, bat man and all things with ‘super power’ presents, a family party with party food of course and his much loved chosen super hereo cake ( can you see the theme that seems to be running this year!)

Jack – you are and always will be my baby, my sweet gorgeous boy that completes our little family. You are full of life, cheeky smiles and lets not forget all your special ‘super powers’. Love you all the way to the sky and back – Mummy x

My own wonderful family | Louise Treacy Photography

Normally I try to take the boys ( and a reluctant hubby!) out for a photo session at least once a year. Photographing your own children is no easy feat as any photographer will tell you – either is taking your own family shot which involves setting up the camera, pressing the shutter and making a run for it before the timer goes off. Last year I almost broke my ankle trying to achieve a photo of the five of us!  This year I grabbed the boys, chose some clothes and was determined to take some images for our Christmas Card to send to our family and friends. Love these images of my boys – they are just growing up so fast.

I will be working right up until the New Year for 2011 as I still have six sweet little newborns that have arrived just in time for their first Christmas – I can’t wait to meet each one of them soon and share their images with you.  Louise Treacy Photography will then be closed from January 1st until the 16th, 2012 as I spend some much needed time with my family. 2011 has been a year filled with so many wonderful clients – I thank each and everyone of you for choosing me to capture the most important people in your life.

From my family to yours I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year.
