The Stylist and The Photographer | Melbourne Photographer

This session was so much FUN!!   Meagan who is a personal stylist came over, styled my clothes, did my hair and make up and then off we went to the Abbotsford Convent for a photography session.  For clients who don’t feel too comfortable in front of a camera I seriously feel your pain – I am hopeless when a camera is pointed in my direction, get all self conscious and start doing this horrible thing with my mouth! Just awful. BUT I am determined to push myself and if nothing else will eventually start to like it and hope to hell after all the shots we take one of them might be ok!! Towards the end I think I started to feel more comfortable but by that stage Meagan had me in a vintage dress that I am none too sure about showing the world quite yet!

On the other hand put me behind the camera and I am in my element – I normally photograph babies and children where I have to have loads of patience, a ton of silliness and take photos on the run. I enjoyed photographing Meagan as I could perfect the lighting, direct and be really creative while having fun – loved it! I think I may have found a new passion! We braved the freezing weather  and had such a laugh !

I first met Megan last year when she came to me for some updated shots for her new website.  I have also hired Meagan for a personal styling shopping trip – it was so fantastic – she taught me how to dress for my body type, colours that suit my skin tones and the skills to buy the right items when shopping. I now how the skills to go shopping with three boys in tow and still come away with everything I wanted in a very short time!   Going shopping with Meagan is like shopping with your best girlfriend – she is warm, funny, and to be quite honest one of the loveliest people I have met in a while. She is also a dag at heart and does not take her self seriously as you can see.  Once this girl gets going  - she is seriously a cheeky diva for the camera! These photos are so her – love them

So if you stand at your wardrobe every morning thinking I have nothing to wear or go to the shops and come home with either nothing or bags of clothes that just do not go together I highly recommend contacting the lovely Meagan. You will have the best time with her and come away with not only some great clothes but some new found confidence. You can see her website at http://www.meaganharding.com.au/ or her blog at www.stylefarm.meaganharding.com.au/

It’s been a long time coming….. | Children’s Photographer Melbourne

Finally I have an image of my own three children that I completely adore – one that makes me so happy and proud to be their mum. The weather was gorgeous yesterday afternoon so I grabbed the boys, managed to finally dress Jack who insists on wearing PJ’s pants all day, bribed them with the promise of chocolate when they go back home and drove in the car to the end of the estate we live in where there is still farming land.  I have always driven past and thought to myself I have to organise a photo there but due to being so busy photographing other children it just never happened! A big thanks to my gorgeous hubby who was the class clown and pretended to be shot by Jack (must be a boy thing!), throwing himself on the muddy ground and all just for some laughs!

This image will grace my studio in a massive 60 x 32 inch gallery wrapped canvas – can’t wait to finally get it .

A Very Special Day | Melbourne Photographer

Tomorrow Luke and I celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Yep  - that’s right TEN years! I met Luke when I was 17 and still in high school – he was seriously drop dead gorgeous and drove a car! Sixteen years later – a wedding, 3 houses (2 we have owned) , 3 beautiful boys, a dog and two cats here we are today – still in love and more importantly the very best of friends.  When I first met Luke my grandfather who I adored was very sick with cancer. We went to visit him in hospital and as we were leaving my grandpa called out “Louisie Darl” in his gorgeous Hungarian accent and gave me the biggest thumbs up and a great big beautiful smile. I knew what this meant – it was his way of saying Luke was the one for me. He was so right.  A few weeks later he passed away.  I will always remember this beautiful and special moment (if my mum is reading this-stop crying now x!)

I always consider myself to be one of the lucky ones to meet my lifetime partner at such a young age – some people spend their whole life looking for the ‘one’. We are completely different but somehow seem to make a great fit. So Happy Anniversay to us – looking forward to many more wonderful years together. You are and always will be my world baby xx We are celebrating tomorrow with a day together having  lunch while our boys are at school and creche and the end of this month we have planned a gorgeous holiday of luxury that includes

- 2 nights accommodation in a Superior Room at Palazzo Versace
- Daily buffet breakfast for two in Il Barocco Restaurant
- Access to Salus Per Aquum day spa (adults only)
- One way transfer in Palazzo Versace’s 4.5 litre Birkin Edition Bentley Arnage to or from The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa with a bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier champagne served on ice
- Two nights’ accommodation in a Deluxe Spa Suite at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa
- Daily buffet breakfast for two in The Restaurant at The Byron
-  A 1 hr Relaxation or Remedial massage or 1 hr Ultra facial in The Spa & Wellness Centre (one per person)
- Complimentary yoga class at 8:00am daily

Luke and I always planned on a fabulous holiday together and eternity rings ( hmm that part hasn’t quite happened yet!) when we reached this milestone – we just can’t wait to just enjoy others company  and perhaps even have a conversation!  -  but will miss our boys like crazy!!

UPDATE – Luke and I had such a fabulous time on our recent holiday. We relaxed, talked, ate so much great food and enjoyed each others company.  I would highly recommend both of the places we stayed – The Byron Resort would have to be my favorite – it was simply beautiful!  To top off our out of this world holiday Luke also surprised me with diamond eternity ring – it is so beautiful and huge and I can’t believe it is all mine! One very very lucky girl!

My scanner isn’t working and our wedding photos were taken post the digital age so this photo will have to do – taken at night and everything!  Luke and I have absolutely no photos together – Must organise a photographer for ourselves very soon. We look like babies in this photo!

Bella | Melbourne Photography

Meet my ‘new baby’ Miss Bella – our beautiful and very cheeky ragdoll kitten. We picked her up on Saturday and on the way home got caught in the awful storm on Eastlink.  We were stuck on the side of the freeway – you couldn’t even see in front of you with massive golf sized hail stones pelting down. I am so surprised that my car came out damage free – very scary and not the best way to bring a kitten home! She has settled in really well and it amazes me what a big personality she already has – more like a little dog then a cat.  The boys absolutely  adore her – and carry her around and play with her all day. You have my heart already my gorgeous girl!

The things that make you happy | Baby photography Melbourne

Running my own business can be a challenge as I also have three gorgeous boys of my own. Some days it is hard to find a balance between working and family life but meeting my clients and their children, taking beautiful photos and receiving a lovely write up like this makes it all the worthwhile….http://littlesooti.blogspot.com/2010/02/louise-treacy-photography.html

Thank-you Thetis for your lovely comments on your experience with Louise Treacy Photography – I really appreciate it and I am blown away that I have impressed you before you have even seen your completed gallery! As stated on her blog any Little Sooti readers who book a session with Louise Treacy will receive a 8 x 12 Matted Desk print worth $75 with their order.  Session fees and minimum order spend will still apply. This is available to the first 5 bookings  - just mention ‘little sooti’. I am fully booked for February but still have a few available dates left in March and April. Sessions are available at my home studio or on location in Melbourne only.

On another note my family and I have decided to adopt a gorgeous little girl into our family – before you all get too excited it won’t be the baby human kind but a gorgeous little ragdolll kitten.  I have wanted one forever since my beautiful Molly tabby cat died tragically and have finally found a lovely breeder who has two girls for sale  -so hard to choose – would love to see what you all think.  At first sight I adore the first one – she just looks so sweet but will show my boys this afternoon and make a family decision. ‘Bella’ will be her name – so excited and so happy to finally get a girl in this house full of males!LOL

UPDATE – We have chosen to adopt the Seal point girl (first photo) – she just looks like she belongs with us and is so sweet looking. Her name will be ‘Bella’ and we bring her home in around 2-3 weeks – SO EXCITED!!
